RE266ss, as of 2023, the latest in cam development from Russell Engineering for large-bore based road-sports engines. Designed to give stronger performance between 1500 to 6000rpm than the legendary RE13 in less modified build specs. Works very well in a standard engine fitted with the standard big valve heads (those with 35,7mm fitted - Cooper S, MG Metro). Particularly with the big valve converted head by CST (see CST2009). A fully modified head will give best performance.

Recommended compression ratio 9.5:1 to 10.0:1.

To avoid premature wear, I very strongly advise, to the point of insistence, that you use the cam followers sold on this site (CST3024 standard type, CST3025 race type) as they have had the face re-profiled to give them the essential correct shape absent from the vast majority of followers on the market.

Never use used cam followers unless it is on the cam they came from and where position numbered.

All cams have A+-type slot drive for oil pump.
Now ground on brand new cross-drilled cam blanks.

Comes with cam lube and installation instructions.

Make sure good quality valve springs with at least 85lb in seat prerssure and 180lb in at peak lift are used
