Now being supplied with all CST race heads, these pads considerably spread the load exerted from rocker pad/roller to the valve stem tip. Consequently wear is greatly reduced on said components. In particular the mushrooming of the valve tips.
These are not just for race use but for any installation where sport spec cams are used.
Where spring caps sit above the collets and are not countersunk/chamfered, the caps will need counter-sinking to the level of the colets to give clearance on the caps. So will clear with all standard tp caps.
